DONATIONS

Historic Deepwood Estate is managed by The Friends of Deepwood, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. The Friends fund all activities and public events at the home such as Exhibits, Children’s Events and Teas as well as History Forums and classes on Art, Landscape Design and exercise in the Gardens. The Friends also maintains responsibility for projects in the home such as ceiling and flooring restoration, collection acquisition, art restoration, and surface repair and replacement. Most recently, the Friends renovated the popular Solarium, replacing the flooring and refreshing the interior walls and benches thanks in part, to a grant provided by the City of Salem utilizing TOT funds. Funds are raised through events such as the Annual Garden Gala and Garden Wine & Food Festival, which are sponsored by individuals and local businesses. In 2008, the Friends are close to restoring the final piece of Deepwood’s heritage: Salem’s first Tennis Court built in 1925. During the 1980’s tree roots and foliage growth caused the court to fall into disrepair necessitating its removal. As soon as funding is complete, the court will be recreated in a visually accurate manner and the site will be available for rental. With this final piece of its heritage in place, Deepwood will offer the community and its visitors a view of the estate as it existed in 1925. We appreciate your donation to our organization which is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. If there is a particular project or event you would like to support, please give us a call for further information. Donations can be sent by mail, charged by phone or completed online using Paypal. .
